Wormulesis Gardenesis
A worm that feeds on memories of gardens.
Wormulesis Gardenesis (2020) is a sound-sensitive installation about the body, the female body, memory, and the archiving of memory. It asks where these relationships meet, in spaces that are utopic or heterotopic.
It is a story about a worm that lives in human pillows and slides into people’s heads to feed on their memories of gardens. Bosch’s Delights are seven drawings built as archival evidence from that story, each with its own tale and visual elements borrowed from Hieronymus Bosch.
About
I’m an artist working in series, with ecology, memory and drawing as performance. I live and work between Delhi and Goa.
My practice is rooted in ecological concerns and a deep reverence for nature. Through fictional narratives, I construct alternative worlds that help articulate the complexities of environmental issues, inviting viewers into spaces where imagination and reality blur. I work in series, allowing each piece to act as a fragment of a broader, unfolding story, each artwork in dialogue with the next.
My practice also navigates the liminal edges of language, those interstitial spaces where the reified, the banal, the phenomenological, and the performative converge. I approach drawing as a performative act, using it to investigate the structural and sensory dimensions of artistic experience. Parallel to this, I craft installations as carefully staged environments: story-worlds that hold and extend my ideas.
